Vol. 1 No. 2 (2010): Mouro 2
The Núcleo de Estudos d ́O Capital (founded in 1991) presents to the public the second issue of Mouro, his Marxist magazine. Moorish, as everyone knows, was the nickname of the old Marx, due to his dark complexion. In this edition we present the great African leader Gungunhana, alongside analyzes of the Cuban and Chinese revolutions and a review of the first part of the film “Che”, played on screen by the impressive actor Benicio del Toro. Our permanent Marxism section features studies on Sartre and the young Marx by two young historians. In time: our journal is scientifically rigorous, but we do not believe that rigor comes from academic titles, lack of humor or the absence of art. That's why we publish young students, established academics, old militants and self-taught people from all times who didn't need to buy the right to think with diplomas, as old Engels used to say. Articles are always ordered according to dossiers, which is why the journal does not accept publication proposals.
Our honoree in this issue is Edgard Carone, a communist and professor of several generations of historians at USP. Owner of the most important work on the Old Republic and the labor movement in Brazil and an enviable Marxist library. Really enviable!
