Abstract

The biggest problem with Soderbergh's film is not what it shows. It's what the majority of the public tends to see. Revolution may appear to be more a matter of individual effort than the result of collective action.
Admirers of Che Guevara and socialists in general have nothing to complain about “Che: a revolutionary life”. It is the first part of a production by the Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro, under the direction of the North American Steven Soderbergh. This first half of the total four hours shows the struggle that would lead Guevara, Fidel and their companions to power in Cuba.
To begin with, it takes courage to make a Guevara-friendly film in the United States. The country has just elected a black man with a Muslim name as president. But the vast majority of its population continues to consider Che and Fidel nothing more than terrorists. Follow what the country's government and business media say.
