Abstract

On this four-decade anniversary of the so-called May 1968, when young French students promoted movements to contest the Western consumer society (with its equivalents in the so-called “Iron Curtain”), it becomes quite pertinent to reflect on this much-celebrated social category. by broad segments of society, from the State to business corporations, which we generically classify as Youth. We can, in a reflection of this type, verify to what extent it effectively has libertarian components or, on the contrary, it brings with it implicit and extremely subtle fetters for citizens of all age groups, but mainly for young people themselves.
