Karl Marx à Pekin by Myléne Gaulard (Paris, Demopolis, 2014, 270 pages)
Abstract
Karl Marx à Pekin intends to demolish the myth of the socialist market economy. Or rather, the “socialist market economy”, since markets precede capitalism. This explains, perhaps, why the Chinese translated many years ago the monumental work of Fernand Braudel that differentiates what he calls capitalism and the market.
