Abstract

What role do individuals play in historical development? What are the action limitations of historical actors or agents? How does history interfere with so-called “everyday life” or culture? Global social processes as determinants of historical realities have been questioned since the post-war period, thus giving rise to currents and historiographic projects that value the so-called “micro history”. These currents of study presupposed a high degree of autonomy for individuals over what was traditionally called “historical constraints”: ideologies, mentalities, the State, economic factors and other phenomena that affected social formations more generally.
