Luiz Lira
Abstract
My name is Luiz Lira and at the age of 7, when I had my first contact with woodcuts, clay and drawing, I realized that I could use art as a means of expression. I was born in São Paulo and soon moved to Buíque, Pernambuco, my mother's hometown, where I spent most of my childhood.
My first contact with the world of the arts came when I joined Instituto Acaia, an NGO that basically works with studio practices. From that, I discovered that I could make my childhood memories in the Northeast physical, or even portray situations related to the favela where I lived and still live today. After Acaia, I decided to study cinema and graduated in computer graphics at the Instituto Crie de Tv e Novas Mídias.
