José Carlos Mariátegui and Fascism
Abstract
José Carlos Mariategui lived a period of 3 years in Europe from 1919 to 1923, most of the time in Italy. It can accompany the great social mobilization that happened in Europe and particularly in Italy at the end of the Great War and also the rise of Fascism and its coming to power. Mariategui sought to understand this social political phenomenon through a set of articles published in Peruvian newspapers. Mariategui’s analyzes of Italian politics and fascism are part of his maturity as a Marxist thinker and politician. This is what this brief article tries to observe.
