Abstract

This work presents an analysis of the text "Critique of the Gotha Program," written by Karl Marx in 1875, with the aim of evaluating the socialist movement of that time, specifically German social democracy. These notes aim to reflect on the theoretical contributions of Marx and Engels regarding scientific socialism, the dictatorship of the proletariat, and the economic transition to socialism. To do so, a comparison is made between Marx's text and the New Economic Policy (NEP) implemented in Russia in 1921. The goal is to understand Marx's conceptions and the economic experiences of transitioning from capitalism to socialism based on the Russian Revolution (1917). "Critique of the Gotha Program" is an essential work as it presents Marx's annotations on a socialist party program that addresses the construction of both scientific socialism and a socialist society. Furthermore, the comparison with the NEP highlights the value of understanding the intricacies involved in building a socialist society.

Possui graduação em História pela Universidade de São Paulo, mestrado em História Econômica pela Universidade de São Paulo e doutorado em História Econômica pela Universidade de São Paulo. Pós-Doutorado em Relações Internacionais pelo Instituto de Estudos Estratégicos (INEST) da Universidade Federal Fluminense (2018).

Doutoranda em História Econômica pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP), mestra em História pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) e graduada no curso de Licenciatura Plena em História pela Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste (Unicentro).
