Abstract

The dynamics of critical thinking. Gaius Prado Jr. (1928-1935), by Paulo Henrique Martinez, the result of his doctoral thesis, is published by Edusp (2008). The work patiently dedicates itself to understanding the experience at the base of Caio Prado Jr's intellectual and political choices. The years that precede the conception of the Formation of Contemporary Brazil deserve attention from the scholar, who seems not to want to miss anything that could shed light on the emergence of the social sensitivity of the individual in question and the social production of thought - even contemplating the experience at Colégio São Paulo. Luís of the still boy Caio Prado Jr., and the conformation of values that model dispositions such as discipline, obedience, sense of hierarchy, fruits of a Jesuit behavior incorporated from an early age.
